Touring College Campuses: Truman State University

KirksvilleTruman State University has a lot to offer educators, students, and groups. It's the perfect place for any knowledge-craving and fun-loving student. The university, located in historic Kirksville, Missouri, is home to a diverse student population from many different Missouri cities, as well as many states and nationalities. One of the top schools in the State of Missouri, Truman boasts a student population of about 7,000 students and offers a variety of majors and numerous academic attractions.

For student groups who seek a good college experience, the Truman campus offers a serene location perfect for the serious student. Truman student tours are available for any student wishing to get a good inside look on campus. You will get a chance to experience the highlights of the campus--such as buildings like McGruder, which has modern-style classrooms using the latest in contemporary technology and the Pickler Memorial library. You will go through the student union building, which boasts several food options in the Main Street Market--such as Godfathers pizza and the Sky Ranch Grill. If you need an energy boost, be sure to try a cool mocha Frappucino at the coffee shop.

You will certainly find Truman educational tours to be helpful if you want to know the Truman campus inside and out. Truman has beautifully historic buildings and is nationally recognized for the numerous species of trees on campus, some of which are from temperate areas across the world! Be sure to take a walk through the sunken garden, located near the large, three-story Pickler Memorial library, to see the magnificent colors of various flowers and other fauna.  Truman is certainly a location for any student seeking a sound educational experience or just to simply get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

After the Truman tour, be sure to explore Kirksville. You will immediately see what it has to offer. Kirksville, Missouri, is home to the only public liberal arts college in the state of Missouri. This city caters to the needs of a diverse student body. The downtown City Square is a good place for any person wanting to find a good bargain or a good meal. You will find several locally owned stores and shops, such as Hidden Treasures, which makes you feel as if you were on a treasure hunt! You never know what you will find!  In addition, the Dukum Inn and restaurant, home of the "second best burger in town" (with your grandmother's being the first) hosts a casual atmosphere along with multiple, delicious food options.  Personally, I would recommend the delicious Swiss and Pepper burger.
