Colorado Springs Experience Four Day Tour
Experience man-made attractions as well as the splendors that Mother Nature created.
Day 1 |
- U.S. Olympic Training Center
Gather your group at the Olympic Visitor Center for a tour conducted by a member of the training center staff. The tour includes a fifteen minute film, Hall of Fame display, Olympic Pathway featuring all 45 Olympic/Pan American Games sports and guided walking tour of the training facilities.
- Garden of the Gods Visitor Center
Registered as a National Natural Landmark, be sure the see the 12 minute film, "How Did Those Red Rocks Get There?", detailing the history and geology of the park. Enjoy hands on exhibits detailing the geology, ecology and culture of the area and listen to park naturalists give presentations on various topics regarding the natural history of the area.
- Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site
Get ready for your self-guided adventure where the history of the Pikes Peak region comes alive. Step back in time and discover historic structures restored to their original condition, watch the black smith at work, and listen to interpreters present the history of the ranch and the area. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this is a working ranch.
- Garden of the Gods Trading Post
Colorado's largest gift shop and Southwest art gallery, this historic Trading Post has welcomed visitors for 100 years.

Day 2 |
- Pikes Peak Cog Railway
During your three hour (roundtrip) ride to the top of "America's Mountain", the train will pass through forests with cascading streams and alpine tundra and provide the group with many spectacular view along the way. Watch for marmot, Rocky Mountain big horn sheep, and the occasional patch of last winter's snow.
- Western Museum of Mining and Industry
Your guided tour will feature working mining equipment and interactive hands-on classes from assaying to gold panning. Enjoy over 15,000 square feet of museum exhibits in four museum buildings, outdoor displays, classes and field trips.

Day 3 |
- May Natural History Museum of the Tropics
See over seven thousand of the world's most beautiful and unusual invertebrates, representing all of the tropical areas of the world.
- Museum of Space Exploration
Learn about man's early flights, the latest space probes and stations and see exhibits, models, movies and space photos. Before lunch explore over 10 miles of hiking trails where eagles and other wild life are frequently spotted.
- The Dinosaur Depot
An educational center and museum on the premises has paleontologists working on fossils from the Garden Park area. Some of the highlights are a viewable lab with preparations of these world class dinosaur specimens, guides who will explain the 120-year history of dinosaur excavation in the area.
- Buckskin Joe Frontier Town
This old west town offers a glimpse back in time to the fascinating frontier town of old Colorado. With a backdrop of majestic scenery, Buckskin Joe has been the movie set for many of Hollywood's great westerns, such as True Grit, Cal Ballou, The Sacketts, The Cowboys, and The Duchess and the Dirtwater Fox. See authentically dressed actors participate in realistic gunfights and explore 27 buildings from Colorado's pioneer past.

Day 4 |
- Cave of the Winds in Manitou Springs
These caves were discovered over 100 years ago by two young boys playing on the hillsides above Monitous Springs and offer an opportunity to stroll through chambers that are millions of years old. Choose from several different tours such as the Lantern Tour during which a guide and the group will use hand held, candle lanterns to view the spectacular rooms, nooks and crannies. Dressed in 1800's style, the guide will tell stories of the early owners of the caves and its formations.
- Manitou Cliff Dwellings Preserve & Museums
The Cliff Dwellings present a unique look at Native American culture. Wander leisurely on a self-guided tour and explore the ancient Anasazi ruins (c.1100-1300 AD). Informational signs give explanations on the construction and the people who built them.
- Downtown Manitou Springs
Walk to the arcade and explore the various shops where in the late 1880's, developer began a resort that provided water therapy to visitors and tuberculosis patients from the many mineral springs present in the area.
